President Ram Baran Yadav has intensified political consultations, holding separate meetings with leaders of various political parties on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

On Thursday, President Yadav met Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chairman Pashupati Shumsher JBR, Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party chairman Narayanman Bijuckchhe, CPN (ML) chairman CP Mainali and CPN (United) chairman Chandra Dev Joshi.

On Friday, he met UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Loktantrik chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, Rastriya Janashakti Party (RJP) chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa, Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party chairman Mahantha Thakur and Rastriya Janamorcha chairman Chitra Bahadur KC.

Then on Saturday, the President held meetings with leaders of Madhesi political parties- Madhesi Janadhikar Forum chairman Upendra Yadav and Terai Madhes Loktantrik Pary-Nepal chairman Mahendra Yadav. Socialist Democratic Peoples Party chairman Prem Bahadur Singh, Chure Bhawar Rastriya Ekta Party chairman Keshav Mainali and Dalit Janjati Party chairman Bishwendra Paswan were also called upon.

The President expressed concerns over the present political deadlock and the delay on issues of army integration, and constitution-drafting. He suggested that leaders to form a commission for demarcation of the provinces and complete the army integration and rehabilitation. He also recommended that the new constitution should be finalised on the basis of political consensus, not a two-thirds majority.
