Thomas Princzkel has been missing from Dingboche in the Khumbu since the evening of 20 April, and his parents in Kathmandu have offered a reward of Rs 50,000 to anyone who finds their son.

Princzkel was on a round-the-world bicycle trip and was on a trek in the Everest region when he disappeared from a lodge in Dingboche which is at an altitude of 4,500m. His rucksack, money, passport and other valuables were found inside his room.

After high-level intervention from the Slovak government, the Foreign Ministry directed local authorities and police to search for him. A helicopter search of the Imja Valley was also carried out but no trace of him was found.
