After holding all-day discussions on Tuesday, the four major parties could only reach consensus on the issue of citizenship, and still don’t agree on truth and reconciliation, army integration, and voter registration.
In spite of announcing on Monday that they had agreed on truth and reconciliation, the parties are still bickering over the details. They have also not found any middle ground on what ranks to grant former Maoist guerillas who chose integration with the national army.
A senior NC leader present at the meeting told Nepali Times that the parties had agreed to provide citizenship on the basis of heredity.
Currently, the four major parties are in an all-party meeting to inform the smaller ones about the progress made.
