The office of the Ministry of Environment inside Singha Darbar is now powered by a solar-based system. This is part of the government's initiative to install solar power system of 1,000 kilowatt at all government offices inside the Singha Darbar area.
Formally opening the installation of solar power, Environment Minister Sunil Kumar Manandhar said the Office of the President will also be equipped with the solar system soon.
The Alternative Energy Promotion Center assisted in this initiative with the installation of solar power system worth Rs 700,000.
