Threat to quit
Nepali Congress CA members asked their party to quit the government saying Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal likes to run a one-man show, ignoring their advice and interfering in their ministries. The current government does not look like a coalition, they said. They requested the party to leave the government if Nepal does not change his working style immediately. (Nagarik)
Rights violations
At least 186 people have lost their lives in human rights incidents in the three years since the Comprehensive Peace Accord was signed, the National Human Rights Commission reported. The NHRC reports holds the the government responsible for the death of 107 people, while the Maoists were responsible for 26. “Both parties —the government and the Maoists — had made an unwavering commitment to uphold the right to life. But, they haven’t adhered to it,” NHRC Chairman Kedar Nath Upadhyay said. (The Himalayan Times)

Deputy Prime Minister Sujata Koirala is charging the foreign ministry Rs 300,000 a day for expenses incurred while in Singapore. She accompanied her father Girija Prasad Koirala there for medical treatment. Her expenses include the cost of a presidential suite at a hotel in Singapore as well the charge for renting a limousine.
