The number of tourist arrivals in September 2011 has increased by 11 per cent as compared to the same month last year, according to the figures released by the Immigration Office of Tribhuban International Airport.
The number of Chinese tourists this month has increased 66.6 per cent and by 21.5, 30.3 and 10.1 per cent increased from Japan, Singapore and Thailand. The number has decreased, however, from Malaysia and South Korea, but in aggregate the increase in Asian tourists is 28 per cent.
In SAARC, the arrivals grew from India by 24.5 percent and it was positive from Pakistan and Sri Lanka as well. However, Bangladeshi tourists have decreased by 34. 2 per cent.
Tourists from Netherlands increased by 13.4 per cent and by 0.5 and 51.4 per cent from UK and Italy.
