The arrival of foreign tourists has increased by 21.66 per cent this fiscal year to 500,750.

Only 411,484 tourists had visited Nepal during the corresponding period last year, according to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

However, the figure only includes the tourists arriving by plane. The number of tourists coming from India alone has increased by 26.10 per cent reaching 130,717.

So, the tourist arrival from India has increased in the Tourism Year 2011. During the review period till last year the tourist arrival from India was limited to 3.76 per cent.

Similarly, the number of tourists from the countries other than India has reached 370,033. It is an increase by 15.47 per cent as compared to the figure last year.
