The tripartite talk between the government, the main-opposition Nepali Congress (NC) and the agitating Madhesi Morcha ended inconclusively today.
During the talk held at Singha Durbar, NC had demanded forwarding the constitution amendment bill along with the reconstruction bill to the parliament while the Madhesi Morcha claimed that the two bills were different and wanted to forward the reconstruction bill to the parliament. The leaders from the government agreed with the Morcha saying the constitution amendment bill needed more discussion.
The talks ended inconclusively as both the parties refused to back down from their demands.
According to Sarbendra Nath Sukla of Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP), because of a heated discussion between NC and Morcha the others didn’t get a chance to speak.
Earlier a meeting between NC and TMLP also ended without much headway.
