A unicameral parliamentary system will be adopted in the provinces.
The agreement was reached at a meeting on Wednesday, following deliberations on a report of the Committee on Determination of the Structure of Legislative Body. The meeting was attended by leaders supporting the task force constituted to resolve contentious issues in the drafting of the new Constitution.
Discussions were held on whether to adopt a unicameral or bicameral system in the centre and on the distribution of power between the judicial body and the parliamentary special committee. The meeting also discussed whether the voting age should be 16 or 18.
The agreed proposal will be presented to the task force at its meeting on Thursday for final approval.
