The 216MW Upper Trishuli-1 run-off-the-river hydropower project in Rasuwa has begun construction. At $647.34 million, this is the largest FDI hydropower project and  is financed through 70% debt and 30 % equity and Korean investment. It will be completed in December 2026 and is close to the Kathmandu load centre, and can produce 104MW even in winter to meet demand.
