The government and the CPN-M have both formed teams to hold discussions about the upcoming CA elections.

At a press conference in Kathmandu on Monday, the CPN-M announced that Deputy Chairman CP Gajurel, General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa, and two secretaries Dev Gurung and Netra Bikram Chand would represent their party in talks with the government. Mohan Baidya said his party would reject all preconditions and would go on strike from 25 July if no agreements were reached.

On Monday evening, Minister of Communications Madhav Poudel said the government's team would be led by Home Minister Madhav Ghimire and would have 16 members. It will also negotiate with other opposing fringe parties, Poudel added.
