Late Monsoon
The Southwest Monsoon usually hits the Kerala coast on 1 June. The clouds are building up offshore, and it did have a weak start on Thursday. However, this means progress across the Subcontinent and the Bay of Bengal arm of the monsoon will also be delayed to arrive in Kathmandu about the third week of June. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon has further progressed into parts of the Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep region, Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea, indicating that the seasonal rain-bearing system is steadily gathering steam after a brief slowdown.
